The TB centers are run in doctors' private clinics.
While examining patients, if the panel doctor
suspects TB, he will subject the patient to a
battery of investigations. If diagnosed, patient
is put on anti TB treatment, provided to him by
AMRS. Panel doctor will educate and counsel the
patient and his family regarding present care
and prevention for the family members and community.
Patients report at regular intervals of not more
than 1 month and collect drugs for the period.
Nutrition in the form of milk powder and vitamins
are also provided.
Drug and necessary stationary for the record keeping
are supplied to the panel doctors by AMRS.
Panel doctor offers his services, staff &
clinic to the patient free of charge under the
banner of A.M.R.S.
In case of diagnostic dilemma he refers the patient
to the panel specialist in his area who provides
his services at very nominal fees.
Panel Doctor provides similar treatment to every
TB patient referred to him by his colleagues or
other NGOs, in his area.
Teams of social workers are trained to counsel
patients and their family members. These social
workers go to the patients' residence and educate
them. They build a rapport with the family. In
case patient becomes a defaulter, these social
workers convince them and bring them back for
completion of treatment.
